Nielson to be in Nigeria from 15-17 July to assess cooperation and sign aid programme of EUR 596 million

Brussels, 10/07/2002 (Agence Europe) - Poul Nielson, European Commission for Development Policy, is to carry out a second official visit to Nigeria from 15 to 17 July. The first, in March 2000, had marked renewed cooperation between the Union and Nigeria, after cooperation had been suspended for years because of the human rights violations perpetrated by the military regime under General Abacha.
