Amcor may acquire Schmalbach-Lubeca activities

Brussels, 02/07/2002 (Agence Europe) - The Commission has approved the takeover of the world activities of the German company, Schmalbach-Lubeca, in the sector of plastic packaging (PET) and fasteners, by the Australian company Amcor. Amcor activity in Europe concerns flexible packaging and pliable cardboard, while the activities acquired only concern PET packaging and fastening methods. Amcor is still faced with major rivals in these sectors.
