The Swiss group NESTLE (turnover CHF 3.8 billion in 2001) has taken over the leading ice cream manufacturer of the US, DREYER'S GRAND ICE CREAM (turnover $1.4 billion in 2001) with 67% of the shares. It was already a shareholder of the company with 23% . NESTLE will then propose the repurchase of shares by minority shareholders in 2006 at $83 a share.
