Brussels, 17/06/2002 (Agence Europe) - The World Trade Organisation (WTO) had endorsed the request for arbitration lodged by Japan and South Korea about the surcharges levied since March 2002 on steel imports. Their griefs will be submitted to the expert panel recently set up on the EU's request. Similar requests from China (its first request since joining the WTO), Switzerland and Norway will be automatically ratified by the dispute settlement body on 24 June 2002.
