United States withdraws complaint against EU in hushkit affair but continues with action against Belgium

Brussels / Montreal, 13/06/2002 (Agence Europe) - On Wednesday, the United States announced it was planning to withdraw its complaint filed at the International Civil Aviation Organisation against the EU Member States in the hushkit affair, but that it maintains its case against Belgium.

In March 2000, the United States had filed a complaint with the ICAO against a European regulation banning the registration of aircraft fitted with "hushkits", noise reduction equipment, from April 2002....
