Advocate General Ruiz-Jarabo confirms "Arsenal" trade name belongs to Arsenal Football Club

Luxembourg, 13/06/2002 (Agence Europe) - Advocate General Ruiz Jarabo considers that the Arsenal Football Club, which owns the "Arsenal" trade name, has a right to oppose the use of this trade name by a trader, states the Court of Justice, which should give its ruling in coming months. The fate of Matthew Reed - a trader who has sold unofficial "Arsenal" scarves since 1970 around the London stadium - depends on this ruling.
