Brussels, 13/06/2002 (Agence Europe) - On 13 June the European Commission adopted a five year strategy for its financial assistance to Indonesia (2002-2006). The indicative sum of €216 millions have been earmarked to finance this strategy will focus on good governance, including democratisation, economic liberalisation, enhancing the rule of law and public administration, with a particular accent on provision of basic health and education services to the poor and the preservation and sustainable management of natural resources (forests, water, communities and environment) in rural areas.
