Political agreement on "asbestos" directive and social rights of legal immigrant workers

Luxembourg, 03/06/2002 (Agence Europe) - Meeting in Council in Luxembourg under the presidency of Juan Carlos Aparicio Perez, the EU15 Ministers for Social Affairs and Employment held a very constructive debate on giving Europe greater social cohesion and more employment. The Fifteen reached a political agreement on the amendments to Directive 83/477/EEC relating to the protection of workers against asbestos-related health risks due to asbestos exposure at work.
