Brussels, 03/06/2002 (Agence Europe) - On 31 May the European Commission approved EUR 800,000 in aid for people in Ecuador who have fallen victim to floods in the coastal regions following constant rain in February, March and April. The money will be used to fund the restoration of drinking water to some 10,000 families and help another 4,000 families to regain minimum living conditions.
