Informal Santander Council announces forthcoming adoption of common criteria for sustainable, quality tourism

Santander, 06/05/2002 (Agence Europe) - Meeting in Informal Council in Santander (Spain) on 4 and 5 May, EU Ministers for Tourism discussed the situation of the tourism sector since the attacks on 11 September. They also discussed establishing a cooperation framework for the future of tourism in Europe and decided to fix common criteria to guarantee a sustainable and quality tourist industry.
