Brussels, 03/05/2002 (Agence Europe) - The text of the seven agreements concluded between the EU and Switzerland appeared in the Official Journal L114. They will take effect on 1 June 2002. The agreements cover the free movement of persons, air transport, rail and road transport, agricultural trade, mutual recognition of conformity assessment, public procurement and scientific and technical cooperation. We recall that the Commission has a mandate for negotiations with Switzerland on savings tax and on fraud, and has presented to the Council proposals of mandates in four new areas: Schengen, asylum, service, audiovisual (see EUROPE of 10 April, p.13). Switzerland calls for all negotiations to be opened at the same time.
