03/05/2002 (Agence Europe) - The Young European Federalists (JEF) have joined with other youth organisations in wanting to make full use of the opportunity provided by the holding of a Youth Convention on 11/12 July in Brussels, and stressing that youth organisations should be involved in selecting the Youth Convention participants (see EUROPE of 27 April, p. 5). JEF President Alison Weston said that "The Youth Convention must not be merely a public relations ercise, but must be part of a continuous process by which the voices of young people can be heard". In a press release, the JEF explains that it is part of the Youth Contact Group to the Convention, which includes various youth organisations and the anti-poverty action group ATD Quart Monde. (JEF.
