Brussels, 30/04/2002 (Agence Europe) - Last week the European Parliament adopted the last report of Danish MEP Anne Elisabeth Jensen on the amended proposal for a decision on Community incentive measures for employment (co-decision 3rd reading). The EP is satisfied with the compromise agreement obtained at the Conciliation Committee on the EP and Council's decision on the issue (see EUROPE 28 February page 15), mainly because it guarantees better information to citizens on the European employment strategy and because exchanges of experience, studies on innovative and other action that aim to apply the strategy at local and regional levels have been kept. Likewise, the Parliament welcomes the fact that funding for these measures has been increased to EUR 5 million, reaching EUR 55 million for the 2002-2006 period.
