Commission grants EUR 19 million in supplementary aid to Afghanistan

Brussels, 30/04/2002 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has approved humanitarian aid decisions for Afghanistan, totalling €19,135,000. The aid is managed by the Humanitarian Aid Office (ECHO). €17 million, ensures continuing assistance for vulnerable groups affected by the civil war, the drought and conflict. Funds will also go towards improving the nutritional status and health of the local populations rebuilding homes and primary health care .
