29/04/2002 (Agence Europe) - European Commissioner for Energy, Loyola de Palacio will be participating at the G-8 meeting on energy on 2-3 May in Detroit. A Commission communication indicated that Ms de Palacio would be stressing on this occasion the importance of mastering increased energy demand and developing security and stability of energy supply. Subjects on the agenda include the use of renewable energy and the ratification of the Kyoto Protocol by members of the G-8.
