29/04/2002 (Agence Europe) - Contrary to the Presidency's announcement, the Justice and Home Affairs Council did not at the end of the day approve the creation of a European contact point network for seeking out those responsible for genocide and war crimes. It was simply a linguistic problem, say Council sources. The Dutch proposal, criticised by many Member States, is expected to be approved without debate, in "point A" (see EUROPE of 12 April, p.10 and 20 April, p.7).
