EU and Chile expected to finish negotiations for free-trade agreement on Friday before Pascal Lamy leaves for Mexico and USA

Brussesl, 25/04/2002 (Agence Europe) - Spokesman for Mr Lamy's office, Anthony Gooch, indicated on Thursday that, European Commissioner, Pascal Lamy and the Chilean Minister for External Relations, Soledad Alvear, are expected to announce the conclusion to negotiations for a free-trade agreement between the EU and Chile on Friday. The two sides are due to reach a political agreement on the trade chapters of the agreement for the EU/Latin America/Caribbean Summit on 17-18 May in Madrid. On...
