Collective sale of broadcasting rights at centre of public hearing on sport - For Michel Rocard, conflict of interests has not prevented awareness-raising and more legislative work needs doing

Brussels, 22/04/2002 (Agence Europe) - On the initiative of British Labour MEP Barbara O'Toole, the European Parliament's Committee on Culture, Youth, Education, the Media and Sport organised a public hearing in Brussels on 17 April on "Sport and Broadcasting Rights", chaired by Michel Rocard. Its conclusions will be drawn up in a report, in view of a contribution to the new "Broadcasting Directive".
