Fifteen at pains to maintain unity in transatlantic conflict over steel

Brussels, 22/04/2002 (Agence Europe) - The Union, which acted as one against the almost closure of the American steel market, seems to be having difficulty today in maintaining the required common front, according to the European Commission, to incite the United States to compensate for export losses caused by these measures, or even better, to renounce the surtaxes imposed on the import of foreign steel since 20 March.
