28/03/2002 (Agence Europe) - Two Swedish GUE/NGL MEPs (Marianne Eriksson and Herman Schmid) have invited European Commissioner Antonio Vitorino to a hearing in Strasbourg on 10 April on legal action by three Swedish citizens against being included in the list of people connected with the Taliban whose assets have been frozen since 1 January 2002 (see EUROPE of 21 February, p.13). One of the three plaintiffs, Aden Adirisak, will be present at the hearing organised by the GUE/NGL group, which has also invited the three Swedes' lawyer to attend, along with Swedish ministers, the Spanish Presidency and the European Ombudsman Jacob Söderman.
