28/03/2002 (Agence Europe) - The European Parliament Delegation for Relations with China, chaired by Ms Elly Plooij-Van Gorsel (ELDR-Netherlands) met on 26 march a Delegation from the People's Congress of the Tibet Autonomous Region, led by its Chairman, Mr Re Di. Discussions focused on the human rights situation, political prisoners, social and cultural developments in Tibet and the possibilities of direct contact with the Chinese government and the Dalai Lama.
