Acquisition of VAW by Norsk Hydro is cleared

Brussels, 06/03/2002 (Agence Europe) - The Commission has authorised the Norwegian company, Norsk Hydro (oil, gas and energy) to acquire the German company, VAW Aluminium AG (aluminium), owned by E.ON. According to the Commission, the acquisition would give rise to minimum overlap activities on the markets for primary aluminium and for the processing of aluminium into semi-finished products.
