05/03/2002 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday the Council of Ministers adopted a decision approving the seven Agreements signed by Switzerland and the EU on 21 June 1999. These agreements focus on: Air Transport; the Carriage of Goods and Passengers by Rail and Road; trade in Agricultural Products; Mutual Recognition in Relation to Conformity Assessment; Certain Aspects of Government Procurement; Scientific and Technological Co-operation between the European Communities and the Swiss Confederation. The Commission still needs to take a decision on the latter Agreement. The decision on the conclusion of the seven agreements will be published in the Official Journal with information on the date of their entry into force. It should be pointed out that the seven agreements were negotiated as a package and should come into force at the same time.
