EUR 190 million to extend Denmark's electricity grid

Brussels, 27/02/2002 (Agence Europe) - The European Investment Bank (EIB) has signed a loan for EUR 190 million with Eltra (a coop wholly owned by 47 Danish electricity distribution companies) to contribute towards the expansion of the high voltage electricity grid. One of Eltra's most important activities is to renew the 37-year old Konti-Skan I deep sea cable connection between Western Denmark and Sweden as well as the construction of a new North-South 400 kV line.
