Brussels, 07/02/2002 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has adopted crossborder cooperation Interreg programmes. By 2006, the Franco-Spanish border regions will receive EUR 173.9 million (including 84.3 million from the Community budget) to strengthen their cooperation, and mainly to support their economic development. Corsica and the Italian provinces of Sassari and Livourne will benefit from an Interreg programme with a budget of EUR 112.2 million (including 52.3 million from the EU).
