GENERAL NEWS / (eu) eu/ombudsman

09/01/2002 (Agence Europe) - European Ombudsman Jakob Söderman has been appointed "Chevalier de la Légion d'Honneur", on a proposal by the French Minister for European Affairs, Pierre Moscovici. Mr Söderman, who had been elected in 1995 by the European Parliament as the first European Ombudsman, was re-elected in October 1999 for a second five-year term of office.
