28/12/2001 (Agence Europe) - In Cairo on Friday the Saudi Oil Minister Ali-al-Nouaïmi, announced that OPEC would be cutting its crude production by 1.5 million barrels a day (MBD) for six months starting from 1 January 2002. This cut in production could reach 1.8 or 2 MBD if non-OPEC members (like Russia) decided to follow OPEC's lead.
