Brussels, 27/12/2001 (Agence Europe) - Last Thursday the European Commission approved PR action programmes on beef. Thirteen of the nineteen PR programmes on beef submitted by the Member States and professional organisations were accepted. The aim of the programmes is to inform consumers on the way in which beef is produced, inspected, labelled and marketed. The year-long programmes will be supplemented by a Community contribution of 8.3 million euros.
