17/12/2001 (Agence Europe) - Approving without debate the report by Giuseppe Gargani (Forza Italia) on the European Culture Capital in 2005, the European Parliament came out in favour of the city of Cork in Ireland. The plenary recommended changing the procedure used to select the Culture Capital (described by the rapporteur as not only complex but also "abnormal" because unlike standard practice, the European Parliament does not give its opinion of a Commission proposal but a report drawn...
