Brussels, 14/12/2001 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday the European Commission approved a support programme in favour of the Euregio Meuse-Rhine programme covering the 2000-206 period. This programme, which stems from the Interreg II Community initiative, foresees the granting by the EU of a financial aid totalling EUR 52.7 million. It has as aim cross border cooperation between the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. The European financing will attract 44.8 million in additional investments from the public sector and 7.9 million from the private sector, the total in resources represents EUR 105.4 million.
