Parliament supports strengthened political and economic cooperation

Strasbourg, 13/12/2001 (Agence Europe) - With the adoption, on Thursday in Strasbourg, of the report by Michael Gahler (CDU; Germany), the Parliament said it supported the strengthening of cooperation between the EU and Iran. It thus recommends cooperation geared to political issues (human rights, nuclear, chemical and biological weapons of mass destruction) and economic issues (liberalisation and privatisation and greater openness to foreign investment).
