Brussels, 03/12/2001 (Agence Europe) - Asked about the social consequences of cases of bankruptcy like that of the company Enron, Andrew Fielding, spokesman for Commissioner Anna Diamantopoulou recalled on Friday that, at the beginning of next year, the Commission would be presenting a communication together with an action plan on the financial participation of workers in the EU. The Commission has, indeed, just ended a vast consultation process on the issue, so as to draw up a series of Community actions that may contribute to improving understanding of the different schemes for financial participation, and organise exchanges of good practice and policies conducted by Member States and to draw lessons from them., and develop the ability of players to broach financial participation effectively, especially through EU-wide networks and promoting dialogue between all players.
