JAL - JAPAN AIRLINES, Asia's foremost air carrier, and Japan's third largest airline JAS - JAPAN AIR SYSTEM have announced their merger in September 2002 to form the world's sixth largest actor in the sector with a turnover of 2,270 bn yen and 52,000 staff.
