09/11/2001 (Agence Europe) - The EP Committee on Foreign Affairs and the Delegation for relations with Central Asia met the foreign minister of Uzbekistan, Abdulaziz Kamilov, who expressed the wish that his country might contribute to the fight against terrorism, but also live in peace with its Afghan neighbour. The minister, who recalled that 80% of the population of Uzbekistan is Muslim, urged for "peaceful Islam".
