ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) aluminium

Norwegian conglomerate NORSK HYDRO has begun negotiations with German E.ON to take over the latter's aluminium business, the subsidiary VAW ALUMINIUM (annual turnover EUR 3.4 billion), valued by several experts at at least DM 5 billion. Furthermore, NORSK HYDRO has acquired from the American investment fund MONITOR CLIPPER PARTNERS, the French company TECHNAL specialised in aluminium construction systems. The move amounted to NOK 580 million, in addition to a debt of around 340 million.
