The Turkish group ARCELIK ("Beko" make) is to make a global bid for BRANDT (1.44 bn euro turnover in 2000 but with low profits, 13 plants and a staff of 11,026), which pools the wholesale electrical household goods activities of the Italian firm EL.FI.
