Brussels, 31/10/2001 (Agence Europe) - By adopting the report of Danish Liberal MEP, Anne Elisabet Jensen, on community incentive measures in the field of employment (co-decision, second reading), the EP is only amending the common position of the Council very slightly, mainly on the financial aspects of the issue. According to Parliament, financial assistance for these measures for the 1 January 2001 - 31 December 2005 period should be in the range of 65 million Euro (50 million Euro in the Council's Common Position). The EP is also calling for the setting-up of a consultative committee, made up from Member States and headed by representatives from the Commission, to help the Commission implement these measures. This committee would replace the committee procedure structure used by the Council (combining management and consultative committees).
