Brussels, 31/10/2001 (Agence Europe) - By adopting, with few amendments, the report on the 2002 employment guidelines and the joint employment report for 2001, introduced by Barbara Weiler (PES, Germany), the EP is effectively confirming that the priority of economic and social strategy of the EU, is full employment. With regard to the First Pillar of the Luxembourg strategy, improving employment prospects, the Parliament is calling on the Commission and Member States to establish comparable statistics on the qualitative structure of different kinds of employment and under-employment, as well as to assess the exact consequences of employment policy on social inclusion/exclusion. With the Fourth Pillar - strengthening measures for greater sexual equality, Parliament reaffirms its request for paid house work by a third party to be recognised as sector of the job market, which will as a result introduce regulations and social rights for the workers in this field.
