Brussels, 17/10/2001 (Agence Europe) - Thirteen university cooperation projects between the United States and the Union and six between the Canada and the EU were selected from the 66 submitted in 2001. These projects, involving 64 higher education and vocational training establishments, have Community funding of EUR 2,141,143 in 2001 (including EUR 1 485 343 for the 13 EU/USA projects and EUR 655 800 for the six EU/Canada projects).
The actions selected include the project "Cultural production in an international environment", the first example of cultural cooperation in the academic world to emerge from the EU/Canada programme, which prepares students in the areas of arts and culture to better incorporate the international dimension in their future activities. Another project, this time under the EU/USA framework, entitled "Trans Auto TEC", develops transatlantic training for automotive engineering students.
