Brussels, 24/07/2001 (Agence Europe) - The Commission is presently examining the contracts concluded by the British television channel Sky TV with the thematic channels Disney Channel and Discovery Channel, following a complaint filed by a competitors according to which the contracts in questions infringe the European competition rules. This complaint is recent, but we are already busy analysing it, added Michael Tscherny, one of the spokespersons for Commissioner Monti. The plaintiff feels that the contracts concluded between Sky TV and Disney Channel as well as Discovery Channel could lead to the creation of a dominant position in the market.
