The British group WH SMITH (turnover of more than GBP 1 billion in the financial year ending in August 2000 with 4,500 employees) will sell all of its newspaper and magazine distribution activities to its former management, supported by the investment fund ABN AMRO PRIVATE EQUITY for GBP 215 million.
