Green light from Commission to acquisition of Sapa by Elkem

Brussels, 28/06/2001 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission gave the green light, on Wednesday, to the planned acquisition of Sapa, Swedish manufacturer of aluminium profiles and flat laminated products, by Elkem, Norwegian producer of primary aluminium. If there exists a vertical link between the activities of Elkem upstream in the area of primary aluminium and the activities of Sapa downstream in the area of soft alloy extrusions and flat rolled products, the Commission feels that no...
