Commission authorises creation of joint venture between Schneider and Thomson Multimedia

Brussels, 14/06/2001 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has approved the creation of a joint venture between the French companies Schneider Electric Industries and Thomson Multimedia (TMM). The undertaking will design, produce and sell powerline communication products. Only TMM is present out of the two parent companies but in a very limited way on the market for home networking products and technologies not involving the laying of any new cable.
