Brussels, 12/06/2001 (Agence Europe) - Unioncamere, the Italian Union of Chambres of Commerce, is organizing a seminar on 19 June on the influence of the digital divide in relations between Europe and the rest of the world. According to Unioncamere, experts believe that the technological revolution could lead to the exclusion of a non negligible part of the population with limited means, like low income families, students in lower standard schools, the disabled and, to a certain extent, women". In October 2000, almost 400 million people used the Internet regularly at world level, 94.6% of whom in the OECD zone. On top come the United States, Canada and Europe, representing 89% of users.
