21/05/2001 (Agence Europe) - On the occasion of the closure of the "Directors' Fortnight", the Commissioner responsible for culture, Viviane Reding handed the EU's Media 2001 Prize to the young Belgian Director Frederic Fonteyne, for his film "Une Liaison pornographique". Created in 2000, this Prize - a work of art in glass and financial assistance of 25,000 euro for the next feature film - rewards a first or second feature film backed by the Media programme, which has been distributed in the largest number of countries participating in Media and which found the widest audience. The film by Frederic Fonteyne has so far attracted some 900,000 cinema-goers, 460,000 of whom in Italy.
