02/05/2001 (Agence Europe) - The head of Deutsche Post, Klaus Zumwinkel, protested on Wednesday against the slow pace of the liberalisation of European postal services. Addressing the press during its annual report, he underlined that Germany has supported Brussels in the complete liberalisation of the postal markets, but this movement cannot continue because countries such as France or Great Britain have blocked the process, indicated a release from AFP. Germany had extended until the end of 2007 the monopoly of the post instead of 2002, for lack of a similar opening by its European partners. The Commission is proposing to open the postal services partially in 2003 and more so in 2007.
