Brussels, 02/05/2001 (Agence Europe) - The Transatlantic Consumer Dialogue (TACD) is a forum gathering together consumer organisations from the European Union and the United States. Its fourth conference opened on Wednesday 2 May in Brussels and will continue until 4 May, with as aim to send recommendations to the American authorities and the European Commission in view of promoting consumers interests. The interests notably cover foodstuffs as well as the various aspects of electronic commerce. Commissioner David Byrne and Pascal Lamy should speak. 40 European associations and 24 American organisations take part in this initiative launched in 1998.
