EBRD forecasts drop in growth for Eastern countries - Pedro Solbes reacts to United States scepticism over ability of EU economy to resist

Brussels, 24/04/2001 (Agence Europe) - During its annual meeting, on Sunday and Monday in London, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) warned that the slowdown in the American economy would affect Eastern Europe. Several Finance Ministers spoke in favour of an activity more focused on the fight against social inequalities due to the difficult transition experienced by these countries.
