11/04/2001 (Agence Europe) - Chancellor Schröder, following his meetings in Saint Petersberg with President Putin, said that Germany was prepared to help Russia to "restructure its debt, if it should have over the next few years difficulties reimbursing. The Russian press presents this summit as a "failure", by underlining that the proposal top convert part of the debt of the former USSR in stake in Russian companies was "buried".
