Brussels, 29/01/2001 (Agence Europe) - The "railways package", liberalising rail freight in Europe as of 2003, should be adopted definitively on 31 January by the European Parliament. The transeuropean freight network is nevertheless still "a map annexed to a Directive", and it is up to the railway companies to make it function as a reality, noted the President of the Community of European Railways and President of SNCF, Louis Gallois.
